Tai Chi School in Berlin Kreuzberg

essential points & receipts from Patrick Kelly:
1.1 five loosenings are more for training internal movements;
1.2 taijiform is more for training internal forces;
1.3 pushing-hands are more for training energizing-activation-connection, but this can only be done if the level of the mind from the taijiform can be carried into the pushing-hands (usually people go back to an earlier level of the mind and the pushing hands may even return to the zero level of outer movement).

2.0 the importance of accuracy in training:
2.1 imagination concerning awareness and control of joint sensors, muscle contraction and releasing, can be double checked on the level of body positions and changes, by using the external sense of sight to look at yourself directly, or in a mirror, or for others to look at you.
2.2 Its more difficult to check for imagination on the level of forces. It can be done by a skilled teacher pressing on you in the taiji form, or by training the issuing in the pushing hands where the effect on your partner shows clearly the quality of force being produced.
2.3 It is more difficult again to double check against imagination on the level of energizing-activation-connection. The help of someone who has gone before and can express the subtly of this level is needed.

3.1 phase 2 is the time to control the partners connection by interchanging empty and full (yin and yang).
3.2 first lengthen phase 2 (connecting into the back foot), then lengthen the time of contact between the empty and full points.

4.0 training true intention
4.1 intention is imaginary (not real) if it causes no energizing or activation of the body or energy field.
4.2 train and teach intention from the beginning.
4.3 listening to the result of intention is the real listening. listening without intention can not lead to the depths of taiji-tao-self.
